Rabbi Berman is a graduate of Hebrew Union College where he received a degree in Sacred Music and his Doctor of Music designation in 2000 and was awarded his Rabbinic Smicha from the renown Mesifta Adat Wolkowisk Rabbinic Academy. Rabbi Berman has served congregations in the United States and Canada, among them, Baltimore Hebrew Congregation and Temple Israel of Akron, Ohio.

His acclaimed solo tenor voice has been featured in performances with choruses and orchestras in the U.S. and on Canadian National Radio broadcasts. He appeared as a soloist in the first cantorial concert at the National Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C., and was interviewed on National Public Radio for "Morning Edition." As founder of the Heritage Trio, he brought Jewish music to audiences up and down the East Coast.

Currently, Rabbi Berman serves as the spiritual leader of Temple Beth Shalom in Ocala, Florida. The Rabbi is also a volunteer police chaplain, president of the Greater Ocala Ministerial Association, and serves as president of The Interfaith Alliance. His wife and partner, Dale, joins him in song, assists and supports him in all his endeavors.

Rabbi Berman's son Daniel creates web-sites, does advertising and is an author of comic books, among then "Thor". His son-in-law Brian Michael Bendis is a five time Eisner winner and the author of many Marvel Comic graphic novels, such as "The Ultimate Spiderman" and "Powers". His daughter Alisa Bendis runs the business end of "JINXWORLD" in partnership with hubby Brian and created the cutest granddaughter in the world - Olivia.
