The bar/bat mitzvah ceremony celebrates a young person’s Jewish coming of age. This special ceremony demonstrates their ability and willingness to take their place in both the world and among the Jewish people as an accountable and responsible individual.
"Shimon the Righteous taught: The world depends on three things on Torah (study), on Avodah (spiritual worship) and on Gmilut Hasadim (deeds of loving kindness)."
-Pirkei Avot/Ethics of the Fathers 1:2.
Rabbi Sam offers an individualized curriculum based on these three components. The specifics will depend on the young person’s background and their family’s orientation to Judaism.
